HOW CAN WE KNOW IN SUCH A BRIGHTNESS? is an exhibition of small gestures reflecting on how knowledges are produced and shared. The twelve artistic interventions range from a collective digital reader, a customized jacket and a TV room, to screensavers, performative works and amateur translations.
With a particular interest in ideas of usership, labor, categorization and inclusion, the project looks at ways by which we could navigate the library, examine the publications in it and reconsider its structure. In that sense, the artists enable new terms to animate sensory experiences and critical possibilities. By weaving alternatives to established narratives, they challenge the conventions of knowledge, leaning towards new acts of knowing, towards new opacities of knowing.
