Wall defines our space. It creates inside and outside, divides personal and public domains, differentiates people admitted there and not. Wall is a border, a barrier, a protector and an aggressor all at the same time. A wall in a picture creates perspective, a sense of distance and spatial depth, which help us to see reality in the picture. But a picture, just like a wall, includes and excludes things. It is a result of selective process to show some things in particular ways and not to show others. Even a photographic picture, which is usually accepted as an authentic image of reality, is therefore always a manipulation of reality. Wall is also where pictures are hung and drawn. Pictures on the wall become windows to another space and time. A wall is usually immobile and unchangeable, so pictures on the wall are replaced to change the character of the wall itself. Thus a wall can become personal or impersonal, show a face as a protector or an aggressor, depending on the pictures it is wearing. In each picture of these works, there are two walls — one as photographic images and another as abstract forms made by reflections and shadows. They are integrated in one photograph. Then it will be hung on the wall of a certain space.
