CROP

CROP explores the role that images played in the Egyptian Revolution of 2011. However, rather than regurgitate the harrowing frames of violence that we have come to expect all too often, the filmmakers take a subtle and unconventional route. The film focuses on the interior life inside of Egypt's oldest and most influential state newspaper, Al Ahram, from its executives to the paper room. Composed from stunning tableau shots of the building's architecture, CROP poses urgent questions about the role of the media in political life.
