Mountain floating in the sky of depopulated areas This area is currently designated as a depopulating area. People who used to live here have moved to cities in search of convenience, and now only the elderly remain. The mountain that once existed here was cut out as a material for a nearby dam. The community of animals, plants and trees, such as rabbits and birds, that lived in this mountain disappeared without a trace. However, due to the influence of the Covid-19, people are beginning to return from cities to rural areas. People who were once associated with the area, or wholly new, try to form a new community in the area. Separated from the mountains and trees, the roots are looking for new roots, while missing those connections and communities. Notsuharu Art Collection 2021, Oita Japan
