The housing complex ""Am Kölnberg"" is one of the main social trouble spots in Cologne, even though it is the smallest high-rise estate. There is not much room and many different cultures live closely together. Alongside drug addicts, prostitutes, refugees from war zones and people receiving social benefits, there are also children, adolescents and adults who have a regular job. Over a period of two years we accompany four people through their lives – with all their ups and downs. The film lives from the people and their own stories which could not be more different and more out of the ordinary. Yet they all have something in common: the struggle against addiction and just getting by every day. We accompany these people in their everyday situations, show them in moments of isolation, but also in their social surroundings. They all dream of a fulfilled and settled life, somewhere else, far away from ""Am Kölnberg"".
